The story

We are Anna and Cristian, the founders of Frankenstein Press. We are also partners in life and parents of two gorgeous children.

We met in 2005 while studying at the LCC in London, introduced by a mutual friend. We share our passion for printmaking, and over the past 15 years, we have been establishing our studio. It has been an incredible journey, accompanying us from La Garrotxa (Spain) to London in 2018, and finally finding its permanent home on North Street, Bristol.

We have collaborated for many years, but it was only recently that we both felt the desire to merge our printmaking skills and create a unique and distinctive identity/project.

Frankenstein Press was born out of the desire to have fun and experiment with each individual press and the combination of the two. We possess a late 1800s etching press and a 1950s letterpress Fag.

A group of us did the linocut workshop with Anna and couldn't recommend it more. She was super helpful, welcoming and lovely, and Frankenstein Press is a really great space! All round a really fun evening spent hanging out and getting creative. We'll be back for sure!

I had my 30th birthday party at the Frankenstein press and I cannot recommend it highly enough! The fact that we all came away with a print we loved, despite all being new to lino printing, is a testament to Anna's brilliant teaching. I especially loved getting to use the old fashioned press. The store has such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere and there is a kitchen and courtyard at the back to hang out in afterwards. I will definitely be coming back!!

I did the Intro to print making course here and LOVED it. I am not a naturally creative person but Anna was so encouraging and I thoroughly enjoyed myself - I even put the print I made up in my Kitchen. Great thing to do with friends or even solo. Brilliant!
