Anna Ruiz

Anna is a Spanish-born artist and designer based in Bristol, specialising in analogue illustration and print for fashion. Her work spans a wide range of projects, from apparel to wine labels, each one bringing her distinctive storytelling approach to life. Recently, she has focused on printmaking, especially linocut, creating unique images and limited edition prints inspired by symbols, dreams, and myths.

She is particularly drawn to the simplicity and power of working in black and white. She finds the play between opposites captivating, balance emerges from contrast, and each element enhances the other. Texture is a key element in her practice, allowing her to explore depth and dimension. By blending opposites with rich, tactile surfaces, she creates pieces that are both bold and intricate, inviting closer inspection and connection.

Anna graduated with a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design from the London College of Communication in 2007 and has received further training at the Art Academy London. Over the years, she has had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, including high street brands such as Topshop and Mango, as well as high end fashion designer Jonathan Saunders and Zuzunaga Brand. She is a long-standing collaborator with Oliver Bonas, where her illustrations have become something of a trademark for the brand, applied across a wide range of products, from fashion to home accessories and gifts. These collaborations have helped her grow across various creative fields, from textiles to product design, while continuing to refine and evolve her artistic voice.
